Victim's Advocate
There are employers, doctors’ offices, and other people involved in your life who many times need explanation as to what has taken place if you are the victim of a crime. In addition, victims can sometimes be overlooked, ignored or taken for granted as the prosecuting process unfolds. The Coryell Crime Victims’ Office is on your side and will advocate for you in any way you need to help ease the burden and see that your rights are upheld. Our office can provide assistance and advocacy on your behalf to a third party through phone calls or in-person visits to law enforcement, criminal justice or other agency to gain information on your behalf, assist you in securing your rights, obtain remedies and services from other agencies, provide intervention for employers, following up on CVC claims filed and assist with other agencies that may provide non-criminal justice related services for victims such as housing or employment.
